Introduction
Belize is a country on the eastern coast of Central America, bordered on the north by Mexico, on the south and west by Guatemala, and on the east by the Caribbean Sea. Belize is a member of the British Commonwealth with an outstanding record of peace, democracy and stability. The structure of government is based on the British parliamentary system, and the legal system is modelled on the common law of England. The principal corporate legislation governing is the International Business Companies Act Chapter 270 established in 1990, IBCs are exempted from taxation on business activities or transactions carried outside of Belize.
